So I just finished swapping a 2015-16 coyote motor into my 2000 GT and upon first startup with coolant I had the heat on in order to bleed the coolant system to get fluid through the lines in the heater core. There is a small leak coming from the back of the motor and I cannot seem to find it. I triple checked the heater hoses and nothing. Its a brand new crate motor so I would hope its not a freeze plug but is possible. My heater core was perfectly fine before this swap, heat worked great and there is only 51k miles on the chassis so I do not understand what this could be. Please help!!!
What I've done to help find the leaks in tight spaces is made a Qtip with duct tape, paper towel and a piece of stiff wire, then slide the qtip into the tight spaces until you get the coolant on the paper towel then you can find where it is coming from.
That's about the last thing I want to do, pressure test, but that's would tell me for sure if it's the motor. I'll look more into it! Thankyou!
