Default X pipe or H pipe with headers on a 02 GT

Ok i'm thinking i'm going to get a BBK O/R H pipe but i'm confused if i should get it to fit long tube headers or short tube headers I have a 2002 GT Which is the best combo for me to go with my Flow Master mufllers? Also how does this work and fit with my stock headers? i think i have stock headers on there now? anything i need to keep in mind to order to make sure it fits? If i want to eventuly get custome headers what is best to have on a 02 GT long tube or shorties? Or should i go with a X pipe?

ive got an 01 and am going through the same problem, however, im pretty sure im gonna buy a x pipe and probably hedman or hooker shorty headers. long tube would just be too tight of a squeeze, for me at least.

this is what i've heard.

If you have a chambered muffler like the flowmasters, the H-pipe is best.
If you have a flow thru exhaust the x-pipe is best.

Also the H-pipe will benefit the low end torque while the x-pipe will give top end improvements at the sacrifice of the low end.

If you want to race, torque wins races where Hp just makes higher top end. JMO

It depends on what you are looking for out of your car. Good luck and happy modding.
