Default H pipe and stock exhaust on 02 GT

Ok here is my deal i have a 2002 GT with Flowmaster mufflers. I was considering getting a MAC prochamber H pipe. I have heard now that i should get a full cat back exhaust system before i do this. Before i go out and spend money on a full system Would it be ok putting the H pipe on with what i got? Will it be that much of a performance loss doing this or is it just going to be minimal? Also i'm cocerned about getting a full system because i hear of problems with rusting so to pervent this i think i should get a stainless steal cat back system verses a chrome system. Any suggestions on a good stainless steel catback system that wont rust on me? Also would i be ok just putting the MAC prochamber H pipe on with just my flows and stock exhaust? Or would i really be hampering my performance tremendisly without going with a full 2.5 custom catback system?

no, you're fine running an h-pipe and the stock catback.
i ran my mac catted h-pipe with the stock catback for 5 months before I got my mufflers welded in.

the stock catback is more than adequate for stock and near stock cars, the real restriction is the h-pipe, not the catback.

Ok, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the stock catback a 2in system? Thats what I thought. If he has a 2.5 h-pipe, wouldnt a 2.5in catback system flow better producing better sound and a couple extra HP?

I remember cutting the tailpipes on the stock system and they looked like straws compared to the pipes on the aftermarket catback.

Again, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,
Jason

The stock system is a 2-1/4 inch system. the aftermarket systems are 2-1/2 inch systems.

Ok so then what do you guys suggest? If i'm going to be really hindering my performance i will consider my flowmaster mufflers a loss and put on a cat back system. Is it really going to a big performance noticble difference with a H pipe and my stck exhuast and my Flow Master mufflers or is it going to be minimal and will i be fine and have a good performance boost with just what i got?

you've got a PM...
