Default Another gas gauge not working thread, 1991 Mustang LX

I looked over alot of the similar issues people are having i dont know if they fit my situation or not....
I have a 91 LX 5.0 hatch. when i turn the key the gas gauge will move up to abouve a 1/8 of tank and drop down to E...It doesnt matter how much gas is in it still the same thing.... My sender unit is new so i dont think it is that.. My gas gauge works so i know its not that...I tried what people said and grounded the yellow wire with the white stripe to the tank. The gauge never moved... I did the best i could to follow the wires for a short but from what i was able to inspect i seen nothing..
I read on here about the anti-slosh module being one of the most common probs...I read that it is 2x2 but i have no idea where to look or what it looks like... Any help would be great....

The Anti-Slosh module is located behind the instrument panel, it looks like a small card out of a computer motherboard. You have to disconnect the spedo cable and the two electrical plugs. I think it is on the top left side on the back. I have the same problem, just haven't gotten around to buying one yet. Priced them at Ford, about $70, but you could take your chances on Ebay, but good luck.

Also, when you take your dash apart, make sure you have some TORX bits, the top to screws by the windshield, that holds the instrument cluster bezel in place are tork bits, best bet is to go to Sears and get and set of TORK bits or a Key set.

My 93 cobra would read on the E and 30 min. after you drove it the gauge would slowly read the correct amount (sometimes). I just replaced the anti-slosh module ( the dealer called it a fuel gauge amplifier) and it seems to have fixed the problem. The module was $120 Cdn so about $100 USD. Phil

which ford dealer did you get this fuel gauge amplifier from? The one I called basically told me I had to go salvage yard diving. Thanks
