I just got a 82 factory t-top notch 5.0. I know it is rare and there is no production numbers. I just wanted to get everyones opinion on how many you think there are and how many you have seen. I only paid $300 for it, it has a edlebrock intake and Carb. Hurst shifter and very solid body. I was tryin to post pics but it doesn't want to let me.

That's a good find no matter what. Personally, I'll jump on any t-top fox that I find. Anything 86 and older is even better.

A coupe with a T-roof is rare to begin with. One with a V8 even more rare.

You would have to verify that both were factory options, and not added or converted later.

A factory T-roof will have a "D" code on the Vehicle Certification Label and a "TR" code on the Body/Buc Tag. A factory V8 will have a "D" (4.2L) or "F" (5.0L) code in the 8th position, and - to verify it hasn't been illegally switched - the VIN will be printed on the VC Label, and stamped partially to the Body/Buc Tag, the engine block, the transmission, and tags welded to the inner fenders hidden beneath the outer fenders.

She is 100% factory, had the D code under S and 8th digit is F, got the fox body recognition guide. I am trying to find out if it is one of a kind

I was just getting ready to post the question on whether these cars ever existed. You answered my question for me.

I was going to ask if anyone ever grafted "T's" onto a coupe before and what kind of a headache that would be.

I too would like to know the production numbers on these cars.

Nice find bud. Never heard of a T-Top coupe, then again never really looked into T-Tops pre-87. But definately a steal for 300 bucks. I paid 4 grand for mine.

As you restore this car please keep us all posted with pics and you're progress. Maybe once you start the project somebody on the site could make it a sticky at the top of the page because the car is rare.
