Default any 1 got any trouble wit there map light flickering on-off

lol alright i bought my mustang a year ago 89 lx an i still dont know how the map light works lol cuz ill be goin down the road an all of a sudden that light will turn on whats wrong wit that picture???

You mean the telescoping light that swings down? It's usually the small push button that has issues, it may have a bad contact inside it.

yea that light it just seems to come on an off when it wants to..small push button???

When you push the light up and latch it, there's a small push button that closes. Let the light swing down, and you should see it, it's right where the light goes. Need a picture?

You have the latch that holds it, the button will be right under the light when it's closed up and latched.

yea badasslx13 i have the same set up as you i dont have a button or a latch. I dont know how mine works either and i dont have a bulb for it. What kind is it or does it matter? Im not trying to steal your thread. srry

ok yea my buttons like broken off i guess cuz its like real real short but lol the bulb works cuz it comes on every now an then

Might need to disassemble it to replace the button, although I'm not sure where you'd get that tiny button. Maybe check salvage yards for the whole assembly?

dont know if you have solved the problem yet, but i posted a fix for these map lights, including pictures on how to repair them.
