Question Questions about strut tower braces.

Does anybody know of company who makes a strut tower brace that goes straight across the intake area only. I do not want the rear mounts, just from shock tower to shock tower...(87-93 Fox Body)

In my Summit Racing mag. they have a BBK Strut tower brace. Also i think ford racing makes one. I heard that installing them is pretty straight forward also.

Why do you want one that only goes to the strut towers? Just curious.

You can always cut the back part of one off if you don't want that portion of it on there.

You can have a fabricater make one for you. I'm wanting the same thing as you. Reason is because I have a 1" spacer on my cobra manifold and the firewall braces don't clear it. I couldn't find one that goes across so I'm having a local aluminum fabrication shop make one for me that bolts to the strut towers and runs across the engine bay.

Sniper, the Maximum Motorsports stb will clear any intake. The back bars tie in at the two holes in the pinchweld on the firewall so they miss the intake entirely. Also, that's what makes it the best stb on the market - the pinchweld is the strongest part of the firewall.

Here's a picture from a few years ago when I used to run an stb. You can see how the side bars miss the intake by a lot.

86 Cobra:
Thanks!!!!! That looks great. How much is that brace? Also, does the passenger side go over the intake pipe go around it as well? Remember, my 1" spacer raises the entire induction system so I have to make sure the brace clears my C&L tube also! Thanks again!

Unfortuantely it's been a few years and I don't have any pictures that clearly show the passenger side. I'm almost positive it clears the intake tube to the side though. I'm sure Maximum Motorsports can tell you:
