yes just the gears will beat hit trust me but you wont do **** if you dont 1 learn to drive with the 3.73's and 2 have tires / traction mods i have 245's and i can grip ok i take off from no more then 2k and it will spin no matter what but it's shittin and getting if you know what i mean my nitto NT555 tire improved my traction like no tomorrow vrs the Douglas one of the same size i would use them if you dont want a drag tire or use the NT555R aka Drag radial you will fall in love all over with that car when the gears are in when it slam's you in the seat when you shift to 2nd

i say underdrive pullys, full exhaust including headers, advance timing to 15* cold air intake, $230 dallor drag radials. and you should be hitting 14.4 14.3 if not even better if you can bang them gears fast enough. that plays a big role just rember that. it can be worth up to .4 on your final et or better who knows. o yea ac/delete/smog delete and take out spare tire and jack and other **** laying around in your car.

stock gears, stock intake, stock heads.
street tires 245/50/16 at 28 psi
14.1 at 100.43 with a 2.335 60ft on motor
13.9 at 103.36 with a 2.385 60ft on 50 wet shot
only 650 psi and it was practically out of juice
all on a broken off upper control arm

the trans am doesnt come with a aod ot comes with a 700r4 witch is a good transmission and i tell your buddy that if he outs in a corvette servo in witch is easy he will love the 1-2 shift but a mustang with a 5 speed should really have the advantage cause you can hold gears alot longer. with a gear and cold air you should show him your tail lights
