I like the stalker bumper too. You could cut the air intakes to open into the engine. I would suggest using some type of close mess screen to go into the openings to stop stuff from getting in there. Do you have the stock air box or a cold air kit? If you had one that opened in the finder, it really wouldnt matter. Plus the opening is so far forward you should need to worry about the electronics getting wet, especially if you have the plastic covers over them. My dad's 88 has the old storman norman hood and I have tried to get him to do something similar. But, the openins are right infront of the intake manifold and over the distributer, so in my case it probably wouldnt work. But for you, I say go for it.

the guy i bought the car from got the hood from usbody.com if you look at installed photo thats my GT and thanks to all i love my car and i finally purchased an off road h pipe and am stilling waiting to paint my saleen spoiler but i want to buy a cobra rear bumper first and get the whole rear painted
