Hi everyone! This may sound dumb but,I have a 1982 mustang gt,it came with a 7.5 rear end.Is it possible to go to the junkyard find a 98 and up v6 mustang(with disk brakes)use my 4 lug axles? If so what would have the best(highest gears)auto,or manual.Anything better than my 2.73's.Are they the same or to different?
You can get rear disk breaks off of a late 80s, early 90s Merc Turbo Coup. Thats what I did for my 79. I used an 84-86 SVO Master cylinder and had to get a few brake line couplers(sp?). Everything bolted right up and I would suggest replacing the booster at the same time since you have the MC off. You also might need a parking break extension (talking about the cable) to fit the caliper because its a little bit farther away than the drum breaks.
