Default 1982 Mustang gt with 7.5 rear end?

Hi everyone! This may sound dumb but,I have a 1982 mustang gt,it came with a 7.5 rear end.Is it possible to go to the junkyard find a 98 and up v6 mustang(with disk brakes)use my 4 lug axles? If so what would have the best(highest gears)auto,or manual.Anything better than my 2.73's.Are they the same or to different?

It won't work since the sn95 rear ends are wider.

You can get rear disk breaks off of a late 80s, early 90s Merc Turbo Coup. Thats what I did for my 79. I used an 84-86 SVO Master cylinder and had to get a few brake line couplers(sp?). Everything bolted right up and I would suggest replacing the booster at the same time since you have the MC off. You also might need a parking break extension (talking about the cable) to fit the caliper because its a little bit farther away than the drum breaks.

You can use an SN95 axle, but since you want to stay 4-Lug the Turbo Coupe setup is your best bet. Read here:

you can use a t-bird rear(8.8) but it is .75" wider on each end but you could use a rim with more back space
