thats what I was thinking but since those are 3 way drag shocks I was just wondering how the handeling was because the retard who previously owned my car put 10 wide rims all around and the front pushes and throws the rear and I don't want that to get worse because of using drag shocks in the rear but I really don't know much about suspension.
I have 235/45/17s all around which I think is stupid to have in the front, it wouldn't be that bad I dont think if it was just in the rear but I also hate having low profile tires. to me it looks like crap on a mustang and I think because of there being almost no sidewall flex it handles like crap and the ride is rough. Do you think this is mostly from having these rims and tires? I was planning on going with some 225/60/15s in the front and in the rear 255/60/15 as soon as I can afford some new rims and tires. do you think this will help with the handelling and ride quality more than shocks would at this point? my shocks aren't bad I was just thinking I could get some new ones if you guys thought they would help?

i'm with you on profile tire on a fox....

if you go with a bigger sidewall it well soften the ride a lot......

your choices for the new tire will do that...and give the car a good looking stance as a bonus....

thats also what I was looking for. low profile tires to me just look like a ricer got ahold of a mustang on the fox's. some that I have seen look really nice but its just not the look I'm after.

also before I buy them I was planning on going with 15 by 7 in rims in the front and 15 by 8 in the rear. I have seen a couple people use this combo but mostly with 15 by 3.5 in the front. how would that work on the street? I dont think it would work that good but I'm just curious.

also almost everyone in my county thinks I'm a drug dealer just because of my car??? I don't really get it but I'm hoping its just the rims and the fact that the previous owner put a big "get some" sticker in the rear window..
that stickers gone but now I gotta save up to get rid of these rims.
thought you guys would think thats funny but, gets really old if its you..

yeah i understand being considered a drug dealer

is not funny..... not to mention it could be dangerous...

my new wheels and tires... i have 6 wheels 15x10

15x5's and for the track i have 15 x3.5's

maybe you could sell the wheels or trade them for a set of pony's or something else....just to get them off the car

i do not recommend running skinny's on the street

they hamper you braking and handling considerably

o it has been. I've had so many people chase me thinking I was someone else. I'm just lucky I've had the faster car so far. most of them are tryin to chase me in like suvs and stuff like that. obviously I'm not gonna stop? doesn't help that the only other black foxbody mustang withen around a half an hour of my house had to be the major supplier in my area.. had a talk with him and he ended up selling it. everyone still thinks I'm him.

that sounds like a good idea. I would go with 15/5 if they made them in the rims I'm planning on getting. I was planning on getting some summit racing rims because their cheep. also there one of the few companies that makes that size of rims in 4 lug that I think look good.

kubitzford, were did you find the air shocks and around how much were they? I dont know if I'm gonna go that rout or not but depending on price I might and some possible reviews.

rlg34750, what was the reason that the air shocks were bad? just curious
also I went on that site and couldn't find prices so I will try calling monday and see how much but I still like the look of the summit rims. is there any reason why I shouldn't get them? I heard they were basically like the weld racing rims but a couple pounds heavier, is this true? I'm not worried about weight savings really because its gonna be my daily driver and I might go to the track once or twice a year

no there is nothing wrong with summit wheels they are basically a weld

the bogarts are abut triple the price of the summit wheels....

air shocks are old technology unless you hauling bags of cement

the provide no benefit imo to the handling of the car and they leak

thats what I was thinking.

well I do have about an extra 100 pounds in my trunk with the sub and amp set up so thats also what I was looking into.
I'll try the new wheels and tires when I get up the money and see how it goes if I still feel that I want better handelling like I know I will, I'll get the strange struts and the competition engineering 3 ways for the rear.
last question (sorry for so many) do subframe connectors help with handelling or just straight line performance? also I was thinking of getting a bbk strut tower brace. will the combination of these tighten up the handelling ? my dads friend is a really good welder and I was thinking of possibly having him make me some subframe connectors. is this a bad idea? If it's not that bad of and idea are there possibly any links on dimensions, or would we have to measure them out and see how it goes?

by all means go for the subframe connectors
it will tighten up the car for straight line & cornering....you can make them they are not that expensive to buy usually less than a $100.00
and get your dad to weld them in

you can just measure and fab them up....

strut tower brace will do the same

the only problem i have with those you will have a clearance problem with some aftermarket manifolds

other than if you add upper and lower control arm the car will handle better than it did when it was new

as far as the questions keep them coming i don't mind at all....

matter of fact keeps me on my game.....

I think I'll just buy some maximum motorsports xl full lengths because they're only 120 plus shipping. I only saw the bbks that were full lengths before for 180 plus shipping.
I was wondering about the bolt in subframe connectors too. I'm guessing that welding them in would be a lot better, right? also there would be a lot more of an advantage going with full length subframe connectors rather than regular right?

I heard about aftermarket intakes not being able to be used when using strut tower braces but I was planning on eventually getting either a cobra intake or a typhoon intake will that clear those?

I was planning on either the maximum motorsports lower control arms or the granateli lower control arms because those are the only ones I have seen that have adjustable spring perches. would those be a good idea?

ok cool thanks a lot. I know I have a tone of questions but being 16 I don't have the funds to have a shop do the work and I like learning about my car so I try to do it all myself and frinds and find everything and do it right the first time.
