Default Oil Change 180,000 MILE 1994 Mustang GT AODE

Hey everyone my car has 180,000 miles on my 1994 GT. I have been using 10W30 fully synthetic Mobil 1 Extended life motor oil. I dont think its working that great. I hear more clicking in my valve covers. Should i move up to 10W40 OIL? Whats the difference or should i get like 15W50 or is that to much. I run my car hard at times.

If you want, you could go up to the 10W40 and shouldn't have a problem. The 15W50 is really thick, so I ask what's your oil pressure now when it's at cold start up? During the summer the 15W50 is alright but in winter it might be too thick.

Its between o and r. Closer on o. I'm going to try the 40 and if it dont do much i'll jump to the 50. I was going to ask Why do they clicks like that?

Man i have no money to take out the whole engine and replace the oil pump. I'm going to have to start looking for a good mechanic around here that is willing to do it for a low cost.

you have to realize your engine has a ton of miles, true the 5.0 last some to 300k but unless you bought it new the other owner(s) might not of cared for it well. I'm sure the oil pumpshas alot of wear and some oil build up in the engine...it might be wise to pull a V/C and go over the valves to see how loose the rockers are..
