I'm really looking into buying this beautiful 1989 Fox 5.0.

It has as far as I know;

3.73 rear end
BBK shorty headers
It's catless
Off Road H pipe
Flowmaster 40's

The owner wants 2800$ for it. For the past two days I've been driving the HECK out of it. It's very nice. No knocking or ripped up interior. He just wants to get it off his yard. The only thing is he hasn't had it pass inspection since 2005. How long till it doesn't have to pass inspection?

But Dad. He's the only thing holding me back from getting it. He said he don't want to give more than 2000 for it. In a week he'll bump it up to 2300. But I'm almost positive it's going to be gone by then. There are other people looking at it. I mean as we drove up they were looking at it. Is it worth the 2800 the man is asking for? I'm sure it is, it's running real good, Trannys is fine. But my Dad always wants to save a buck or two. And when he offered him 2000 the guy straight up said no.

Sorry all of that is jumbled up. But I love Fox's, I've always wanted a 5.0 over any of the newer mustangs.

I believe inspections might go by the State you live in so that is hard to answer unless we know. It shouldn't cost to much to pass inspection and I am sure some people might be able to share their thoughts on how to do this. Otherwise the car sounds like a winner!

How is the body and interior? Everything come up clear on the title and carfax? I always loved the fox Mustangs. Just ask yourself if you pass this one up will you regret it? Will you be able to find another like it for that price? Share your thoughts and passion with your father, try to make him feel some of what you're feeling and see how fast he buys it lol.

Everything is good! This is a fox that is in nice shape. It has some cuts in bruses in the body, but the most major is a dent about the size of a penny.

The engine runs strong. Man. It really pulls. I love it. I live in Texas. Does anyone know when I don't have to pass emissions in Texas? And could you post up a link? Saying how many years, so I could show my Father. It's a 1989.

Well, you win some and you loss some! But.. It looks like I'm going to be joining you guys' forums pretty soon. I swayed Dad into offering him 2500 on Sunday. =] Fingers crossed guys!

$2500 is definitely fair. Of course we can't see it without pictures but you shouldn't have too much trouble getting it inspected as long as everything is in good order. BUT. You'll need to get some converters on there if you're going to be smog checked, don't even try it without them.
