Default Upgrading distributor on 1985 Mustang convertible gt

I'm soon to be upgrading my stock distributor, but what would you recommend?
And what about iridium spark plugs?
Any suggestions?

You could go with MSD, Accel, Mallory, those are good, I have the MSD myself.

There is absolutely no reason to 'upgrade the distributor'.

The stock dizzy is fine. Money better spent elsewhere.

Cheapo Autolite/Motorcraft plugs work just fine too!

Some copper core Autolite 25's would be a good call. I've tried every different kind under the sun in a dozen different 5.0L motors and the Autolite 25's with the copper cores are my hands down favorite.

I have to agree with the above recommendations on the Autolites. They are solid and will do you well. Don't go fancy like the Bosch or anything like that.
