i have a 98 gt looking at a 96 gt 5 speed trans. to replace my auto.1st-will that work im supposen it will an should..but what else do i need other than the transmission?

damn so its gonna cost me 1100 not even including the transmission???? lol i think i will just put a shift kit in it an let it be lol

Being an auto car right now, you didn't really think you were gonna get this swap done by nickel and diming it did you? Unless you already have pedals, linkage, flywheel, clutch, bell housing etc.... the parts alone are going to cost some $$$. The transmission itself can be had for around $500 or so depending on it's condition.

well i actualy found a trans mission for 250 w/80 k on it from craigslist an got a mechanic that charges me hardly nothing ....maybe i can pick most parts up from a junk yard or somthing?..

you maybe able to find the bellhousing ,pedals and linkage at the junkyard.....

with regard to clutch and flywheel i'd purchase those new

and before you put the tranny in the car i'd do a rebuild just to be safe....

as richard said it is not a cheap swap.....
