The Maaco that i had a few friends go to they actually painted the car very well...They even did the body work good to...By any means the cars werent totaled, but they had some spots that needed to be done...My friend has a 55 Chevy Gasser that was done at a Maaco i color sanded it for him I'll take pictures of it this weekend...Were going to a big car show..I'll post them up for you guys to see...I was thinking off taking my GT there 1 i dont have tons of money to get it painted..2 i have no garage so i dont want an exspensive paint job it would be useless...the car isnt going to be a daily driver so thats why i thought i'll go that why....

well after a week and a half i still didnt get my car back from maaco , i called them monday and the said it should be done wednesday and it wasnt that big of a deal so i called them today and they said the car isnt ready they said there sanding the **** out of it , it hasnt even been painted yet , they said there going to give me a call once its in the paint both , and i was starting to get pist becuase i was expecting it to get it back three days ago and i have school coming in a few days so im not even sure if ill get it back on time i was thinking maybe they did something to my car thats why its taking longer

They always take longer then what they tell you....trust me been there done that.....lol Im sure its fine...

There not that Bad maybe some of them are...I have to get better pictures of my friends 55 that car is worth over $30.000 dollars easy...The ONLY reason he had them paint it was he just had a kid and didnt have the money right at hand.. It was in Black primer and he was tired of hearing wow nice rat rod.....So he had them paint it and i think it came out great i mean it had some orange peel but i took care of that.....

many years ago when i lived in Baltimore there was maaco who had one the best painters i ever knew...
generally speaking those are few and far between
for your sake i hope you car looks great....
I might use that Maaco my friend used or i might go to a body shop that i know too...Depends when i get ready to do the car how much money i can spend...Im not to worried about the body right now its in really decent shape i want to do all the motor work 1st so if there is any scrathes or small dents due to working on the car i can take care of them when there done with all the work being done to the car....

I stopped in every day to check on it . the guys there were cool, took me in the booth with it masked off so i could get some shots of it. Got photos in all the stages. Thats nice to have i think.
My 85 gt i agree with your first one. Low budget, stays parked in the drive way and a daily driver. The same reason i'm going to macco lol

Yeah for some reason i cant justify spending like 3k on a piant job for my car that just is going to sit on a street....I live in an apartment..if i had my own house with a garage then it would be a different story....

Yea i'm the same way. But i talked to a guy i know who owns a shop and he said he would do all body work, repaint my car same blue, and add 2 silver strips down my car for 2 grand. Thats not to bad. But i'll prob still go to macco or wait till i get a car port. My dad won't let me use the garage he has his 69 chevy c 10 in there lol
