good info man, I have been thinking about doing the 331 build for a while now. I think first though is either a kenne bell supercharger or possible a pony down turbo system. I thinki they would work well together.

Reggie,
What kind of heads would with this build? I am thinking of doing this and I like the Trick Flow. Also, can I keep a mech fuel pump or do you have to change to elec. One last thing, I went to the summit web site and began a wish for the stoker, the only I can find is the scat flex plate, I am going to have a T5, is the flex plate still needed?

i personally am not the impressed with trick flow heads

i would look at afr's or edlebrock.....

i recommend changing to a electric fuel pump

finally if you are going with a T5 you need a flywheel

either a 50 oz or 28 oz 157 tooth depending of what stroker kit you go with...

Thanks Reggie,
Now if I go with the AFR head, which one do you recommend? Also, which lifters, rockers and vlaves would I need? I am looking at the stoker kit that you have listed.

on a stroker motor I'd go with the 185's

http://www.airflowresearch.com/185sbf_strp.php

they come in emission friendly if you need them

2.02....i like the ford racing lifters & scorpion roller rockers

are you planning to build a 331 0r 347......

I was planning on building the 331, from everything that I have read it seems to be more reliable. To bad we don't live closer, I would come over to pick your brain. I was talking with a local performance shop the other day and they want around $5500 to build a bolt in ready engine with around 350hp. Plus I would still ned to buy the trans. I am hoping I could build one cheaper.

believe it or not $5500 is not a bad price for a ready to run stroker

the problem involved with engine building is not the major components...

it all the little stuff nuts & bolts, gaskets.....etc

it will add up quick....

Cool

im no expert... but as far as ive seen and read. the 331 has a better rod angle than a 3347 when its put together, so i think it spins easier and revs higher... dont quote me though, im onlt going off what i've read

but i have a friend that built a 347 stroker with a set of afr 205 heads and an e303 cam, and another friend that built a 331 stroker witht the same heads and cam... and the 331 has outrun the 347 on the top end everytime they race

i have a kb 1.5 (the old style) that will fit the earlier 5.0s (pre 94). pm me and we can see what we can do for pricing. my ford builder tested it and sez its legit/complete... i like the blow/flow i put on my 95... great for kick in the seat acceleration...
