i dont believe in hp gains..
only in gettin an engine to its full capability of what i can do with all the right parts.
am i right or am i wrong
example: i add headers
iam now 5% closer to my engines full capability
Yeah thats true, however you will never reach you're engine's full capability. Combustion engine's we have now are 30% effecient, all the heat that is lost is power also lost. If we had a true 100% effeciency then we wouldn't need radiators or any type or air or water cooling system.

I just recently went from 229rwhp/277rwtq to 244rwhp/284rwtq by replacing my mildly ported stock intake with an Edelbrock Performer. The peak HP and TQ points were both raised by 150rpm.
I am doing the same thing with my new 1990 Gt I have low miles on the motor. I just ordered bbk long tube headers, electric fan and BBK mid pipe and I have the luxury of living in Louisiana where I can get rid of the cats. I want to eventually go with a Vortec strim. What HIC should I use that will be a good match with the strim
I'd suggest Trick Flow TW heads, CompCams XE270HR-14 cam, 1.6 roller rockers, and a Holley Systemax intake with a 75mm TB. The Vortec produces very little boost below 3000rpm so you'll want an engine combination that'll provide reasonable low rev response until boost builds up, and a good idle quality.
yeah i imagine it a little overboard for the street. i plan on building my 88' for street and strip so every bit helps. i'm leaning towards buying a built dart motor, i dont have too many if any good speed shops around unless i go to jersey.
i was leaning towards a 331 with FI and a bottle with full susp. upgrades.
You should check out a shop in Reading, PA!
It's called FULL THROTTLE AUTOMOTIVE.
The 2 guys that run the shop are geniuses!
Give them a call, ask for Chris, he's the Mustang guy!!

LoL Give him a call anyways, see what he says!
Tell him Anthony gave you the info, he'll hook you up with a good deal too!
Chris knows his **** and they are the cheapest around!!
THe money you would save in parts and labor is well worth the trip all the way to Reading! Plus, when your car leaves the shop you'll knows everything was done right the first time and its at it full potential!!
P.S. - Chris has tons and tons of Mustang parts laying around his house, so I know if you wanted anything he had for sale you could probably buy them for next to nothing....
I know for a fact that he's got a Trick FLow top end laying around with the stage 3 cam! He's debating whether to put it on his old car or not...

what about port and polishing upper and lower intake (stock 5.0), roller rockers, and an E-Cam, headers. would that work?
I have a friend that just threw in a E-cam on a stock 95 5.0 and is running 14.2 1/4 miles here at bandimere. at sea level that would b a 13.2. all he has is full exhaust and E-cam and 285 rear street tire.
with winter coming i am getting ready to have my engine rebuilt. its a 1994 5.0. it has 160xxx miles but still runs good. the mods i have now are the bbk full cold air, bbk off road h-pipe, flowmasters that i want to replace with SLPs, a little bbk fuel pressure regulator that probly does nothing. after the winter im putting a carter fuel pump in i think its 190 lph. what do you guys think i should do with the rebuild? im still looking for stuff and researching but i was thinking about using the stock heads for now and just buying the edelbrock performer intake and doing a decent size cam. any suggestions on cams or internals i should go with or on any upgrades for my heads. i would buy heads too but i wont be able to afford them until later on.
