i have a 5.0 convertible gt and have the chance to buy a 4 cyl coupe same color is white and same year 1992.I need yours honest opinion should i do it or not thanks.

if you plan to drop a 5.0 in the notch......Maybe

Would it cost much more to just buy a 5.0 notch? Especially with our recent gas prices

I wouldnt change your 5.0 convert. into a notch. Since its a 4 cyl. even if you put a 5.0 in it, it will always be a conversion car and not worth as much as your true 5.0 convert.
But if you can but it and find a good 5.0 engine for it I would say go for it that way. JMO.

That way you'll have 2 5.0's, one can be a daily driver and the other a track car. Go on craigslist, you can easily find engine and tranny swaps. Also, it won't just go in and run you'll have to get the harness for it and also a couple small things like the fuel lines arent the same so you need fuel lines from a real 5.0 car. Or you can just swap out everything from the vert into the notch but then the vert will be worthless since it'l be stripped off the computer, harness, and fuel lines. It really depends on how much time and mechanical skills you have to do the swap. Good luck and keep us posted
