my buddy has a Subaru impreza wrx 2.0 litre turbo..he is doing a full sti swap nd has no use for his turbo.. i have a 1989 ford mustang lx 5.0 and want to boost it nd was wondering if anyone knows if i can use his old turbo nd just make custom piping to mount onto my car.does anyone know if that is possible or not
a turbo is a turbo, no matter what company had it installed from the factory..so yes, it will work, but alot of fabrication will be needed
what MM size is turbo? if its a 2 liter motor, im guessing its pretty small. i would recommend something larger for high end power since the 5.0 has decent torque as is, or a twin turbo setup with smaller turbos.
also, look at hellion turbo systems. they make plumbing and complete kits for 5.0's. if the turbo you have is similar is size, you could use some of the piping form them, or copy their design when making you own parts..dont forget the oil lines
It'll work as long as you can make the piping system. With it coming off a small engine, the turbo is probably small as well. That would limit your eventual power output but it'd make for one torquey engine with no lag.

hey, with enough creativity (and skill) anything can be put with anything, which means that the turbo could be made to work, but, like these guys said, since its off a 2.0L, it's probably kinda small and would limit your power potential later on.
