Is there anyone who has done this? And has some first hand knowledge on a couple questions,
1. I'm set up for 4:10's what and/or where would I get the correct speedo gear? FRRP I think only manufactures up to 3:73 for a T-5
2. Any clearance issues ahead as it relates to an off road X-Pipe? I've got a UPR one laying around in the box. With the trans being a bit more beefier in diameter than a T-5 am I limited to what H or X pipe I install?
Thanks
If I don't "catch a fish" here, I'll post under 5.0 tech

Thanks

Hey ya'll real quick Pete was home this weekend and we worked on the car ALL day Thurs and ALL day Friday. He ripped the rear end end cleaned it wire wheeled it, and repainted the axle he did a GREAT job. And yes we have pics of the before and after. On a note along the rear end.....
Is it possible to press out the axle studs from one pair of axles and when pressing them into the other axles that they would not seat correctly and therefor be loose? Or is this a POSSIBLE defect on the production of the axle that that the studes are going into? I'm thinkng I might have to start with new type studs?? Your thoughts

I bet you should find a new set of studs. The old ones probably just shrunk a litle bit from being in so long. Bring an axle with you to the parts store, then you can get the proper size.

I have been through that ordeal a time or two...
Yeah wheel studs Reggie. The wheel studs were pressed out of the FRRP axles that come with the 5 lug kit (new never used) and then we went to go put them into the Moiser axles. Out of the 5, two of the wheel studs did the wiggle wiggle when they were put into the other axle.
Just an FYI as to why we have to use different axles....with the Auburn locker Moiser makes axles specific to that locker. Also, the axles are a bit shorter than the FRRP ones (FRRP uses the 94+ axles for that kit and therefor the wheels will sit out a bit more on a foxbody)
+ 1 on the longer wheel studs. I learned the hard way about using studs that were too short...I vaguely remember my rear wheel passing me on the interstate a while back...
i just spent the better part of two hours reading through this entire thread, and it sounds like an awesome project... i'm starting the rebuild process tomorrow with "demolition" and have been greatly motivated by all you've done so far... i'm in the AF and about to get a little more $$ so hopefully i'll have a budget almost half as good as yours... keep up the great work and keep the info coming, it helps a lot
i've realized from all the small projects that i've done on the 90GT, that whenever you start, take the time you think it'll take you to do it and have twice that available... same with the budget
That rear end looks really good, and heather said that you (Pete) painted it right???
Don't worry about the deadline, our '34 was supposed to take us 2 years.... after 5 it was "done".

59 days huh? Well all mine was supposed to take was a few hours...that was almost a month ago or more, and I am just about to get my motor back. Still a month to go...5 hours? No way..
Keep laying the coal to it, it's coming together really nice!
