Gotcha! I figured it'd be something simple like that.
What is the weight difference between OEM and mini?

i wuold imagine 3-7 pounds....

in class racing it is real critical when a car has to meet a certain weifgt

it will give you the option of using the weight somewhere such as over the rear wheels.....

Default Engine Pics and stuff

I just wanted a mini starter for a couple reasons, I don't want to reuse the stock one, weighs a little less, and its more easy to work around when it comes to long tubes if I should ever want to go that route.

The last couple days I've been spending my time cleaning all the residue and oils of the internal parts, then bagging them. Consiting of the main bearings, removing the coating so it doesnt get all over my crank. Wiping down the H Beams, and cam and all that. Also, I installed the new springs and retainers onto my heads. (the old ones are brand new and I have them for sale)

Old springs vs new
Shorter ones are the old stock head springs
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...f/100_0241.jpg

And a couple other photos of the timming chain cover and water pump. I also used Sponge Bob as a means to portray the reflection in the alternator braket. We decided to not chrome the timing chain cover, and the lower intake. Only because its mostly covered up, or its to tedious to get into the little valleys and such to clean it with windex. Instead we went with powdercoating on those parts.

- The firewall to hood seal came today, and it doesn't look like its going to cut it, as far as closing the gap on the hood. I'll check it for sure in the morning.

Default Car Insurance

I did check on insurance to make sure I can insure this car for what I wanted to. I have my insurance through USAA (military only) They out source the over writter for situations like this and I will be able to insure it for $35,000. With proof of pics and any receipts I would ike to enclose. The following stipulations would be in effect;

3,000 miles/year
no public parking unattended
must be garaged during the hours of 5pm-9am

Originally NO operating Mon-Fri. However, they offer a 9-5 package, where you can drive it twice during the week to work or whatever. In that case you can leave it unattended and such.

I just felt like adding this into the thread. Most people, (like my dad), would comment "you'll never get your money if something happens to it."

$442.89/YEAR

Race at your own risk....as usual. But this car will get ran down the track. If for nothing else, to secure a time slip, and get a couple kills, without dodging Johnny Law in the process.

My heads have me wrapped arong the axle right now because the #'s dont match up

we tested them to 62cc's and what not. But what head Trick Flow makes (street or heat) do these fall under. After talking with the guy who sold them to me....what he advirtised and what they were, and then he said he would send me the Summit Specs.......ya, one of those drama type feelings.

He advirtised as 64cc, (i tested to 62) than says oh they are actaully 61cc. Does this really matter, (the cc) or is it all about, what happens in the end (hp/TQ) ?

Head Chamber Size___ 58cc ........61cc.......... 64cc

Compression Ratio___ 10.46:1.... 10.10:1.......9.76:1

ok these are based on a flat top piston 347

so at 62cc you should not lose much if any HP or Tq

hope this helps you....

Ok here are the actual heads that I have. Some of which a couple postings is the a little "small town drama" So at this time I have Trick Flow Street Heads, which is a correction from initially me saying I have Track Heat heads. If that all makes sense. Trick Flow Specialties TFS-51400003 - Trick Flow® Twisted Wedge® Street Cylinder Heads for Small Block Ford - summitracing.com

I had bought these heads from the guy for $800.00. Which I thought was a really good deal. Its just that his info was a little off and all that. But I think these will work fine with my cam and other parts. Your thoughts?

after going back into your earlier post is this the cam you are using

comp-XFI236HR-14........579 lift, 286/ 300 duration, 236/248 duration at .050* lift

you may want to compare that to to the heads.....

Maximum Valve Lift (in):0.540 in.

and would go with better springs in the heads

overall you should be ok.....

Here are the springs that I installed on the heads the other day....
COMP Cams: Beehive™ Valve Spring Set; 1.750" Installed Ht. | 1.065/1.412 O.D.

If you don't mind, I'm going to ask you to elaborate on these heads and a couple areas. First off, I just don't think honestly the guy knew exactly what he was selling. Because when we did the CC test, (plug in, and filled them with water), we came up with a 62cc. Laying the pistons on top of the combustion chamber, they were a pretty good overlay.
In relation to the max valve lift, can a person modify that area of a cylinder head to increase the valve lift? And is there a way you can take a head and actaully test all that instead of going on "word of mouth" I am assuming if your valve lift on a cam is more than the max valve lift on the head, hence you get a blown valve? I'm asking because I don't know and once again maybe somebody, someday might be wondering the same question and stumble across this thread. I have all the confidence in the world when it comes to my engine builder, but I dont like comming across to him as though I'm second guessing him or bothering him on a weekend with trivial stuff. If that makes sense.

Well anywho, I did nothing yesterday. I've got the "yuck" and feel like I've been ran over.......four times, in a very slow methodical way. In part, everytime I've come back from Iraq my body has to re adapt to real food, clean air, and the overall enviroment. Plus it is flu season. So hopefully I'm over this crud by Monday.

The JEGS man, however did pay my doorstep a visit yesterday with my new distributor, and Moroso valve covers, polished aluminum. Chrome would have been an option to BUT, chrome only comes on steel, and I didnt want leaks from steel valve covers, just to get the shinny effect.
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...f/100_0249.jpg

I'll be on and off today. For right now I'm going to fire up the 360 Live and play Call of Duty 4. ( I guess you can take me out of combat, but can't take the combat out of me)

*Feen, you been added
