I didn't mean that vulgar is a bad thing! But my normal day to day humor is not always appropriate or appreciated because of the vulgarity. LMAO

Most of the people I work with are from a military background....

Fridays are open-season to say anything about anyone! That includes family members and everyone else. Most of us hold our comments for Friday. It is way more fun that way....LMAO.

I love my job and most of the people I work with (there are always exceptions). Dirty Santa gift exchanges are a riot (usually alcohol and tools are brought as gifts).

We all have a kind of comraderie that you don't usually find in normal jobs. I have a really cool group of people to work with and the jokes and comments make the day go by faster. It also makes the day less frustrating!

Sorry, guys! Things have been pretty up in the air and frantic the last week (lots of late nights at work). I got some baddish news the other night....

My engine builder and all around "Tell me what the Heck I am doing" guy will be out of the area until the middle to end of February. He is spending time with his mother who recently got ill. He is going to go with her to the remainder of her doctor's appointments to figure out what is going on medically.

I am guessing the next steps for me will be the 5 lug conversion, suspension, and fuel pump. What sucks is that the car is not at the house in the garage. It is at the shop up on Ft. Sill. I will have to figure out bay arrangements for all that work. I had originally hoped to be able to work on those things with the car at the house.....oh well.

I will keep updating as new things happen.....SIGH!!! And they are really not happening quickly enough, but I guess that is life.

He is doing pretty well. Right now he should be out in the field for his first training rotation. They don't wait very long to put people to work out there.

The schedules they keep are a bit different then the rest of the Army, but that is based on units there to train. This weekend is 4 days off for the rest of the Army that is not deployed, and he is busy at work...LOL.

We figure that they will keep him plenty busy out there. The cool thing for him is that his role will be different with every unit that shows up, so it should keep the job interesting.

And....I have a chance now...lol Well lets see been out here for about 2 weeks now. I won't bore ya with all the silly crazy stuff I encountered on the trip out here by car. But it took me only 2 days to drive it down highway 40 from Oklahoma.

On my second day here, I was parked in a parking lot and saw a Blk Mach pull in. Now that in itself really isn't a big deal, BUT he had a '00 Cobra chin spliter on it, so I figured he might be a little more than "just an owner/driver" if you know what I mean. So I sparked up a chat with him and he's originally from California and knows pretty much the in crowd around here with thier mustangs. He also knows all the regular shows and dyno shops within the San Diego area and goes to Knotts every year. Another tid bit that he dropped on me, was that (when time permits) him and the guys go up to the John Force shop where he, (John Force) holds a car show every last saturday of the month. So....yeah I guess I haven't been turning wrenches in a few weeks, but I'm already networking.
As a side note: it is really hard to think people who drive mustangs take me seriously when they see what I'm driving. So I have to roll up the sleeve and show them my mustang ink...and then that seems to settle the crowd

So yeah....just to elaborate on my wife's description of my job here, I evaluate higher ranking "leaders" and units getting ready to deploy to Iraq / Afghanistan. In short, I use a political approach to tell them they are jacked up and if they don't change thier ways someone might die or get seriously injured.

I'm really looking forwad to getting my cars out here though. From the front gate to the nearest highway is 27 miles down a 2 lane road (passing lanes off and on), speed limit 55mph. And there is NOTHING so much as a street lamp or gas station on that stretch. Just open desert.

TTY all later

Pete

Hey Pete, it's good to hear from you.
I am a little confused... Which car did you take to Cali with you? And when and how are you going to get your project all the way over there?

I had to take my wife's --cough, cough, hack---- PT Cruiser

As far as the 93, it has to really be up and running. Ideally, trailer it out here and then finish up the tune and all that in the big city, L.A. or something like that. But right now I don't feel like typing much cause this whole Army thing/moving the family as originally planned is just turning into a nut roll...and the 3 monkeys on a stick to go with it.

It's just fustrating but it'll be ok.

You'll make it through man. No worries!

My grandparents have a PT Cruiser. I hate talking good about a Chrysler but it's actually pretty nice. Comfy and someone quick...

Keep up the good work Pete!

Okay, I will admit the car is in my name (loan paperwork). I HATE THAT CAR!!!!!

And it wasn't even my idea in the first place.....

My father-in-law has an 01 or 02 Snoozer, and it is pretty comfortable. His Snoozer is obviously a few steps above the one we have, as models go.

The sooner that car goes, the better I will feel! I wanted to get a Ford Fusion or something, but was reminded that all of us and the dog wouldn't fit in a Fusion. Soooooo..... the PT Snoozer it was.
