1987 Mustang backfire from low rpm hits

Ok my 87 mustang 5.0 is backfiring once and awhile from a low rpm hit. So when im driving w/my foot barely on the gas and then stand on it, it will backfire (pop) then go. It sounds like its coming from the passenger side everytime it does it. But it doesn't do it ALL the time, just maybe twice a day.

I'd check the timing and the basics first. How many miles?

Need more info. Is it stock? Modified? If modified what has been done to it? That would help narrow it down, with the explanation as is, it's too broad of possible causes.

94,000 original miles. bone stock except for k&n filter.

TTT anyone got any ideas what it could be? checked timing and its at 10 degrees. tride pulling it forward to 12 and it started pinging so i put it back to 10.
