All you have to do is unbolt them, flip it over and bolt them back in. That way the fat part of the quad shocks won't be rubbing on the tires.

i know the result of it..
but my rear shocks arent like that..
if i flipped them, i could rebolt them becuase each end is different..
the bottom has a cylnder where you run a bolt to the bar, the top goes straight up where you put a nut on top.
really makes no sense.. hmm

Sounds to me like your 80 is different from the others. Just try taking them off, if you dont get wheel hop then your fine.

I think you might be mistaken as to what the "quad shocks" are. They are horizontally mounted dampers that help in preventing axle windup, lateral motions and wheel hop. The term "quad shock" doesn't refer the number of shocks on your rear suspension, you only have 2 quad shocks installed. Look at the first picture I attached, the guy is holding the passenger side quad shock in his hand. It bolts on horizontally. In the second picture it shows you a close-up (it's the black one, not the blue). You're thinking of the vertically mounted shocks (the blue one in the second picture), and those are NOT what you want to flip.

Like the picture shows, the quad shocks are horizontal, the actual shock itself is vertical. The quad is the one you would flip, both ends are the same bolt style and size.
