Anyone heard of M&R Engines?

I am replacing my short block and have a budget of 1900 after shipping. I was going to go with DSS, but I really want a stroker and that one is 2100 before shipping. I came across M&R, they seem pretty good. I can get a forged 311 short block (crank isn't forged) for 1900 shipped and that's with the TRS pistons installed for my twisted wedge heads.

Does anyone have input on the company?

i suggest you goggle them....

it appears they have mixed reviews....

I'm looking into suing them now so save your money for a better company and btw they have a "D" rating with the BBB (I haven't filed my complaint yet).

All I am going to say is I have a short block with numerous problems I can't not assemble. I wish these posts were posted prior to my purchase when I googled their business name.

I'm sure there are more people out there with issues that have not been able to pin point to them, but I'm glad I checked over the short block prior to assembling.

311( 310.7) = .060 over 302(5.0)

I bought a 5.1 from them a couple months back and it runs great no problems and matt was more than willing to help me with anything i needed. I think M&R is great and very helpful. A few of my friends have bought motors too and have not had any problems.

the 5.1 is a modular 4.6 stroker

i like how both posts defending this company is from a new member and it is their very first post. the screen names could be a little more clever and i didn't think the 2v stroker kits were worth much power, how is this guy beating cobras all day?

I know this is an older post, but 79 why not just buy a short block from a local parts dealer? Most likely you will need to spend some money if you want to get a true stroker. I know those 79 blocks werent the greatest (Mine could have been bored over 60 thousandths and still not worked), but you could rebuild it and put a stroker in it for you said price range. If you went with a 306 you could stay well within the blocks limits.
