Is there a quick fix to a broken EGR Tube?
While changing headers I snapped the EGR tube in half on my 95 Cobra. This is the tube that goes from the headers to the EGR valve next to the throttle body. The "bellows" looking portion of the tube makes you think this thing is flexible, well it is not. I hate to pay around $75 for that part. The tube is about 3/4" in diameter. Is there a somewhat flexible piece of metal material that I could pipe clamp on both pieces to hold it together than seal it up with an exhaust sealant. How about a high temperature piece of sicilone hose? Not sure how hot this tube gets but it had a heat protector on it similar to a spark plug boot protector, so i am sure it's up there. I have emissions inspections in our area so I need this thing to work. Maybe i can have it welded back together, but that not so quick as I would have to find someone who could do that. Any good ideas?
