Default Engine Rebuild Kit

Hi There I Was Wondering What Would Be The Best Rebuild Kit For Me .Although My Car Still Runs Perfect . I Would Really Rather Rebuild It Than When Something Goes Wrong . So If You Could Give Me Some Choices Would Be Good . Im Keeping The Internals Stock Im Not Putting On New Heads Or Cam Or Intake Right Now . Also I Seen Some Kits That Have Pistons In The Kit Would Those Typically Be Good Or Should I Just Keep My Stocks ? Since Everything Is Forged Already I Dont Want To Go Less Than That .

You know what they say- if its not broke, don't fix it!! Those are some pretty durable motors. Good luck with whatever you decide.

How about my motor that has 250,000 miles and goes through a quart of oil every 4 or 5 days? Would there be a considerable ridge at the top of the cylinder? Would boring it .020" over be enough, or am I best to buy a crate motor instead of rebuilding it?

If it's using a quart every 4-5 days, then either the seals or rings are worn, you could use a rebuild then. With that many miles, you might need an overbore, you won't know until the cylinders are checked. There's an engine kit *ahem* in the classifieds.
Ring ridges can happen, and then sometimes they don't. I've seen engines with lots of miles and no ridge while others with less miles would have one. You really won't know until you get in there.
