Well now I'm thinking about going with either Pro 5.0 or MGW...

Can't make up my mind yet.

If it was between just those two....would the majority still go with Pro 5.0?

I saw this thread so I thought I would chime in.
I bought a new Pro-5.0 shifter so I started taking the old shifter out today. when I pulled the boot I saw shift stop bolts! Dammit, this car has a Hurst Competition Plus in it! Oh well, still changing it, I didn't like how it shifted anyway! It felt notchy and was hard to hit 3rd gear with.
I will have the hurst for sale if anyone is interested, lol! I hope the Pro 5.0 works better than this one did.

Well, I just ordered the Pro 5.0 based on this poll. Thanks for the info. I hope it works as well as you all rated it.

i have a hurst in my 95 and i love it. it came with it but its so much better than the stock 93 i had. plus the chrome handle and white shift knob looks really good as a center piece with my all black interior. i dont ever miss a shift with the hurst

I have had 4 stick mustangs in the past 6 years, currently own an 03 Cobra and a 90 LX all my stangs get MGW shifters they are the best quality and most adjustable shifter on the market, they just don't get recognized as much because they sell their own product, goto www.mgwltd.com and get yourself the best shifter made.

My vote is for the Steeda Tri-Ax. I have used almost all of them and none of them to me compare. Between the fact that the shifter puts the handle right where I like it for nice comfortable shifts while cruising. The best thing I have found with the shifter is it is the easiest one to get into gear.

Man, the only shifter here that I personally have tried in a fox body is the pro 5.0. It was new so maybe it wasn't broken in, but I thought it sucked. I tried the MGW in my uncle's S197 while parked and it seemed smooth. I'm going with the MGW for my 02 GT simply because you have everybody on here pitching every shifter out there and you hear good and bad things about them all, but you don't ever hear anything bad about the MGW. Has anyone on here ever heard anything bad about them? And considering its still one of the cheapest, IMO you cant go wrong with the MGW! Get the MGW Smoked88GT, no doubt, the best one out there!

Thats kinda what I'm thinking 02TRUBLUGT

Haven't heard bad from them and plus they're totally adjustable.

Well see though what I DO end up going with. MGW or the

Pro 5.0. I'm sure I'll love whatever it is, getting rid of the granny

throw of the stocker

I voted hurst, but Ive only ran hurst. The first I ran was the chrome handle, longer one with the white knob and the rubber boot . It was okay, shifted fine, but I like the looks of the stock boot and the feel of the stock handle, so I sold that one, and got a short throw hurst that takes the stock boot.

I went with a Hurst. I love it. I have never missed a gear with it and it's very smooth.
