Default 1986 Mustang. Which headers for my 351w fox body?

need help, i am building a 1/4 car 1986 w/351w with a c4 trans my problem is what long tube headers to use. hooker has a set for $550. and bbk has a set for $350. would like to use the bbk. i am not running any other Exhaust has anyone else done this and what headers did you use? also what problems did you encounter. thanks in advance for your help

First why 1/4 it will run better if you build the whole car.....

sorry i had too......


ok now that i got that out of my systm here is another option for headers.....

first thanks for the welcome. second reggie your right now it is about a 1/4 done but hope to have a whole car soon and spoke with mac and those headers will work thank for the info

I have the BBK long tube swap headers on my '85, but I run a T5 not an auto. I didn't have any fitment problems. The passenger side collector is very close to the floor pan though, like maybe 1/8 inch. My wife always complains that her feet are hot when she rides in the car.

i thought i read that the bbk longtubes wont clear an auto. they say the will only work with a 5 speed?

I looked them up on Summit's website and you are correct, it says they will not work with an auto trans.

the bbk's will work with the c-4 and the small bell housing but not the large which is what i have the mac guy advised that his would work with what i have. i hope anyways
