And thanks for the compliment. I wouldn't have it any other way. I am proud of my car and the way you all treat us here, wont find a better site! Thanks again guys. More pics coming soon.
Everything looks good man. I like the highlights. Really sets it off. When you build your next motor, you may want to look into the edelbrock victor jrs. I went with AFR 185s, but the victor jrs have 2.05 intake valves, and i think they flow more? And i think they are cheaper too. But anyway, great looking intake and valve covers. Hope all goes well

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I'm getting really excited to put my block back together. Havent heard from the machine shop yet, so I am willing to assume everything is going well. If I have a cracked head, which I know I don't, but if I did that would be a perfect excuse to get them alum heads... The only thing I don't look forward to is problems with first startup. All my other builds have done great at break in but I just know something is going to go wrong with this one, but I have confidence that it wont. I wish I had something more than the 15 second video clip on my phone to take a video of it. I guess I can see if I can borrow my brothers camcorder.
Here is my oil pan again. I think the primer gray color was a little to not-done looking. So I went with the silver that I did my valve covers and upper intake with.
The build is coming along nicely I like the color of the valve covers with the subtle highlights and the color of the oil pan. Nothing better than that fresh paint look .

Everything is looking good! I'm in the process of doing the same. My block and heads are at the shop as well and I'm painting everything, can you guess what colors to match the car? I'll post pics as well when done.

Got a call from the machine shop today. Good news and really good news.
Good news: The block was warped .004 and they resurfaced it flat again. They are going to do a rough .030 bore because the number 6, 7, and 8 cylinders were .016 out of round... Heads were resurfaced and intake was surfaced to match up the ports. Valves are being cut to length so they are not too long for the stock length pushrods causing contact with a piston, thats never good.
Really good news: Nothing was cracked, broke or un-fixable. Block cleaned up nice. Heads are in good shape, next week and a half they will be putting all new components in.
Bad news: I am stuck here waiting to spend more money...good deal HAHA
