will my stock h pipe on my 01 gt sound just as good as aftermarket 1 if i just gutted the cats on it?figured id post it on here 4.6 talk dont get much traffic

Gutted cats sound the same as an off road EXCEPT at certain times, they'll pop. The empty chamber where the converter's guts were make an air pocket and it'll get forced out. The ones I've heard get annoying really quick, there's no way I'd have gutted cats. I'd say either cut them out and replace with straight pipe or get an off road mid pipe.

like a back fire loud pop? yea i thought bout cutting them off but figured id just gut em so i wouldnt have to worry bout exhaust leaks...
