Default Looking to Buy a 5.0 Good deal?

Hey guys, Im thinking about picking up this 87 GT.. I have had a few mustangs so far but none this style, all have been newer.

Im trying to figure out if this is a good deal on this car or not, and if there is anything I should look for when i go check it out. I got him down to thinking about 4500 from 8000 asking price.

Let me know what you guys think!!

-87 t-top gt, 5spd from factory, black (was red)

ASKING PRICE IS 6500 now, it was higher! IF YOU HAVE A REASONABLE OFFER, I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR IT, VERY MOTIVATED TO SELL!!!!!!!!!!
Just started it up and drove it this weekend...fires and runs 1st try even after sitting months on end, just like every time!!!

BODY
-hatch is rusting through (can find them all day cheap though)
-front bumper cover split at bottom from loading on a trailer once (riveted together though to keep it somewhat presentable)
-little waves in the body here and there, not bad, could be filled/straightened easy if you're a body person i just hate body work
-no major water leaks despite it being t-top
-no aftermarket body parts, all factory still

INTERIOR shows its age but not horrible...
-grey, pwr lumbar on drivers seat
-small shift light on column (to stay a little sleeper)
-vac/boost guage under stereo (custom bezel made of alum. i think by danny's shop)
-autometer mechanical boost guage
-relatively new heater core (2003)
-no mods inside besides that really, carpet and seats are worn but not ripped, its all original and its an old car its what can be expected
-battery in back w/ cutoff switch behind license plate

SUSPENSION all aftermarket...
-qa1 front coilvers (drag) and springs (forget the rate i think 125lbs?)
-UPR c/c plates
-flaming river manual rack and steering shaft
-moroso drag springs uncut w/ airbag in RR
-lakewood rear shocks
-upr upper and lower control arms
-reinforced torque boxes by rick91gt
-welded in subframe connectors
-hooks up perfectly, from being a low 14 sec car to as it sits now, I never have tire shake or anything, goes straight as straight gets off the line and down the track

DRIVETRAIN
-3.73s, 31 spline ford differential rebuilt a few years ago still holds strong
-moser axles w/ long race studs
-tremec 3550 trans
-brand new (20 miles on it) factory ford clutch cable
-spec stage 3 clutch (few years old but holds strong, car never driven so not like theres miles on it)
-mccleod blowproof bellhousing
-aluminum d/s

ENGINE etc...
-new summit replacement block
-factory 5.0 rods
-clevite bearings (77) (rec. by fti)
-probe forged pistons
-rings from fti
-standard oil pump
-factory oil pan
-AFR 165 heads, 7/16" stud mount, 58cc chambers, unported, rebuilt last year with heavier duty springs to handle the cam/SC combo. new seals as well. ARP head bolts and rocker studs.
-EW Chromoly Pushrods
-Eaton Roller Lifters
-custom FTI cam
-scorpion 1.6 Roller rockers
-rollmaster timing chain
-sfi approved balancer
-all ARP hardware throughout.
-42# injectors, 255 lph pump in tank, external pump as well
-edelbrock performer rpm intake
-anderson power pipe
-s-trim w/ air to water aftercooler setup 15 psi
-mondo bypass
-130 amp alt, wired to kill switch hidden in back w/ optima yellow battery in back
-mini starter
-factory style belt driven water pump (standard rotation)
-no other accessories (just w/p, alt, s/c)
-bbk longtubes (1 3/4")
-bbk h pipe (on car no cats, another w/ cats never used ever)
-mac dumps
-msd distributor and 6al
-small electric fan, gets the job done but could be upgraded if you’ll drive this on the street in traffic jams, other than that it gets by (been like this 2+ years and I have no probs)

has pulled around 520something horsepower TO THE REAR WHEELS but it was on street tires and not strapped tight and spun tires. it was only to insure it was safe though as i had just done alot of work to it after the tune, so an exact number is not known and not really important. it trapped 127mph a few seasons ago when a few valves were burnt up, so it should be an easy 10 sec car. has been 11.30 or something i forget. has a very safe tune, with a SCT chip. i think it was 11.6 or so to 1.

anyway, sorry thats so long just wanted to be complete. its a fun and fast car, and looks fine from an isle away at a parking lot, its not like its a piece of ****. but it doesnt have fresh paint either.

would come w/ all the wheels i have for it. 15x3 draglites with 165r15 radials (next to new, maybe 100 miles), 15x10 draglites w/ 28x11.50 mt et drags(about 10 passes on them, none were even hard full passes though), 5 spoke asa wheels w/ shot kuhmos that it sits on the street w/.

asking 8000 but am OPEN TO OFFERS. there is WAYYYY more in this car than that and its all next to new, although years old, as it has no miles on it really. I never drive it, race it, or even cruise in it anymore. I want it gone so I can get a daily driver and mess with my jeep more. Let anyone know who you know would want it.

if you dont mind doin body work... or paying to have it done

seems like a average price..

CHECK FOR RUST, doesnt matter if its FAST AS HELL!

if the body is rusted, it aint worth nothin...

I would have to agree, keeping looking. There's a better car out there.

Yep you will know when the right one comes along its like falling in love ....

It just depends on what you want....a complete car that has all the work done already....rolling chasis....one that needs body work....needs motor or motor work....there is alot of these cars out there but if everyone has noticed these foxbody's are becoming like the older mopars, camaros such as 67-69, exc. you find someone that has a foxbody they wont get rid of it they would rather it sit and rot away or they ask an arm and leg for it and you dont really have the money to buy even though you would like to save the poor car but you know if you come home with something not worth looking at to the ol lady..... you know your a** is in the dog house.....

Yea I'd like to find one with most of the engine work done, I had my 08 pushed to about the max before i sold it so I want to find something with a built engine already that I can just take off and roll with Looks are not a big deal right now, a little body work down the road i can deal with. This one seemed like it had all the engine stuff done and was a decent price at 4500, but the rust under the hood is a little scary, he also said the only rust on the body was on the trunk.
