Default Having smoking and surge/idle problems

I been having problems after my H/C/I swap. The car idles rough, it takes forever for it to warm up. I have to keep pushing the gas to warm the car up are it will shut off. This takes about 5 minutes to get the car from dieing after revving it the whole time. Will the car is warming up the RPM's keep jumping up and down. When I finally get the car running it start smoking, I don't know if the smoke is white or blue, because some people say it looks white and other say it's blue. The car is not overheating, it runs real cool, it has good compression, and the smoke smells like gas to me, but I don't know for sure. Some people say the car smells like it running rich other say it smells like it is running lean. I know I need a tune, but one shop said they would not tune it because I have mechanical issues going on with the car, another shop said it looks issues within the engine when they saw mw pull up. I check my fuel regulator it is at 45 psi. I narrowed it down to these problems either it is bad rings, vacuum leak somewhere near the intake, or a lose are bad PCV vavle. I hope it is not the rings. I checked the oil and it is still full and oil pressure is also good. I need help these shops are a rip off out here. The car seems to run okay once it warms up except for the idle problem and smoking. Would a vaccum leak are a PCV valve cause the car to smoke from the exhaust are surge are have a rough idle. Any thoughts would help, I'm lost.

A vacuum leak will cause rough idle. Smoking blue is oil, smoking white is coolant. If you smell a lot of unburnt gas, its rich. check all vac lines, every one of them. clean pcv, throttle body, mass air sensor, and make sure your oxygen sensors and coolant temp sensor is working. Also check air charge temperature sensor, check your timing, check for loose ground wires. be certain your compression is within specs. could be bad head gasket is compression is low between 2 cylinders.

Vacuum wouldn't cause smoke. Sounds like it's running rich. What size injectors you run? Did you get a tune yet? Is the mass air calibrated...

check vac lines

also check for leak between upper and lower intake...

also if you have them could be 02 sensors....

Yes it happen after. I was going to check the air mass meter it is a mac air mass meter. I bought for 24 lbs injectors and that is what it is calibrated for, maybe the unit is not good. It is brand new. I was using c&l before that, but switch because I wanted the engine to be chrome. I was reading somewhere that if the mass air meter is not calibrated right it would be pushing out black smoke out of the tailpipes. Also it might be a bad PCV grommet, maybe. What are the symptoms of a bad air mass meter are one that is not the right calibration? Also what are the symptoms of a bad PCV grommet

I haven't got it tuned yet. it is hard to find anyone around that tunes. I found one guy, but he said it would not due anything to the car due to the fact it was smoking. What about the 02 sensors would that cause the car to smoke out the exhaust. i told the company to send me a new mass air meter. It is made by mac are these know to go bad. Trying to explore every possibilty before looking at the rings.

okay quick question i bought a air mass meter mac is said it is calibrated for 24 lbs injectors ( but it says stock Cobra) which comes with 24 lbs. injectors. I have a 24 lbs. injectors but I have a regular Gt, but I bought this mass air meter. Would this cause a problem. Is a mass air meter calibrated for a 24 lbs. injectors different the air mass meter calibrated for a stock Cobra 24 lbs. injectors? Please tell me this is where I messed up. I didn't take in account the computers are different, so maybe the calibration might be different.
