hey guys, i am about to buy a rebuilt ford 302 motor out of a 1991 fox body mustang so i can convert my 1985 3.8 to a 5.0. if i buy this engine i will have the motor itself, the ECU, Wiring harness water and fuel pumps and engine mounts. (can you think of anything else i need?) i want to know what transmission i need to buy in order to get this thing up and running. as of right now i have just my stock transmission (automatic) in my 3.8 v6. will that work or will i need a whole new tranny?
thanks guys

i plan on having a low 13 to high 12 second car if that helps.
another note, i do not want to break the bank here, 2500 for a transmission is WAYYYY too much

I love my T5. i wouldn't go with anyhting else. Ive never had a problem with it and its got a lot of miles on it right now.

I would personally go with the C-4 before an AOD in your case....but thats just my opinion and im sure there is alot of people here that would perfer a C-4 over an AOD in a car thats going to be more for performance than an everday driver....if you aint worried so much about millage as performance do it right if you want an automatic go with C-4 plus it is so much more consistant than a T-5 I dont care how good you shift you will be faster with a C-4 thats done right...
So if your looking for performance this is what you want....
This is just my opinion but I would pick the C-4 over AOD for performance the AOD is not a performance transmission in its stock form and then once you build one the C-4 is just as cheap to build...Good Luck!
*And some parts will vary on the year of the C-4...for example the number of splines on the shaft....
