Default Diamonds in the junkyard

So I went to the junkyard today and found a 94 or 95 mustang, 3 lincoln mark VII's, and a ranger. Need to look for the aerostar tomorrow. I guess my question is, which is better for stopping power. The mustang calipers, or the lincoln? Or should I just take what I need from the mustang, front and back, grab some rear axles from the ranger and aerostar, and buy cobra calipers?

I'm sure with the third option most would just say cobra. But is it that big of a difference from the lincoln or 95 mustang. And price wise, if its a lot more expensive $300+ for cobra, I might wait on that one and decide between the other two for now. which has the better calipers. Non cobra Mustang or Lincoln Mark VII

The ranger rear drums are identical to the msuatng rear drums, just 5 lug. The Mark 7 front brakes are identical to the Mustang, just 5 lug.

I would grab the 94/95 Mustang front spindles and brakes. I would also grab the rear brakes and rotors if they are in good shape.

Another option is to check these guys out... North Racecars Brake Solutions

They have awesome deals on converting foxes to 5-lug 4 wheel disc while keeping the same track up front and back (no wheel clearance issues).

Must be some good salvage yards in Cali cause the ones here on the Right Coast are all rusted shells with nothing inside by the time you find them. The yards here are really JUNKyards.

I agree. SOME stuff on the sn-95 cars are better.... to put on a fox....

And you can't beat the weight advantage and versatility of a fox

So I got everything I think I need for the front off the SN95. And for the rear one caliper was missing along with the caliper bracket. So I Just grabbed the rotors, dust plates, brake lines, and some other braket that was behind the dust plate, along with the driver side caliper braket. I figured I would just leave the one rear caliper there, since I would probably have to buy one for the missing passenger rear. Didn't have time to strip the ranger. It was closing. But I found more Rangers then just that one, and a lot of aerostars. Can I use both side of the aerostar axles? I disconnected the brake lines from the first connection on the front and rears. Was this the right place to disconnect? The passenger side rear had two connections running to the brakeline. And the rotors, all four, looked brand new. They were in excellent condition. Now I have to research what else I need to complete the swap, and if I can find some of those parts from other cars, or if I need to buy them new. Besides the rear calipers, one caliper bracket, I need to figure out what to get as far as master cylinder, (if I need a new one, use mine, or take one from another vehicle), a proportioner valve thingy, (buy one new and for what type of car, or pull one off of another vehicle with one) and ebrake cable, (pull one from a car, or buy one new), and if there is anyhting else I need, not sure. So I guess I have some information searching to do, so I can complete this swap. But I think I'm on the right track. Any more tips, or advice would be usefull and appreciated, But I know this topic come up a lot here. Thanks

Heres a few more questions to tag along to the previous post. Can I buy cobra calipers and rotors and have them work with the stuff I just took off the V6 SN95 or when it comes time to order parts, should I stick to that model? Will I need new caster/camber plates? Can I run with 17" x 9" wide rims? If I can, is it best to have 9" wide all around, or 8" wide up front, 9" wide in back? What other additional parts will I need? Any links for parts, installation, or direct advice would be greatly appreciated. I know I have a lot of questions. Thanks
