what should i do for tires

hey guys im going to the drags tommorrow night. right now i have all season tires on my car. decent tread. they dont stick to well though. i also have some pretty bald tires on another set of rims. my buddy told me to put the bald ones on. he said they will hook up better once there heated up almost like a slick. is this true? what should i do?

racing slicks have a different compound than street tires. just because they are bald doesnt mean they are racing slicks

^^^^^Exactly! Slicks don't stick just because of them being slick, they are also a very soft compound that when heated up get's sticky.
