Since it's your first time ever drag racing, don't be upset if you don't hit a 14... Experience is everything!
My first time at the strip I was all over on my times, from mid 15's to mid !17's!
Being your first time, just get to know the track and your car. Find out where your car likes to shift and what RPM to launch at.

Are you going to be running on your regular street tires?

That's what I ran on every time I've been to the track...
Just be careful on your launches. My car is also mostly stock, and I have to launch at around 2K-2500 RPMs to keep from doing a burn out off the line. Every car is different though, every time you line up at the light, try different launching RPMs... 3500, then 3K, then 2500, etc. Once you get off the line, drive it like you hate it!

Trust me, I used to think drag racing was easy until I tried it myself. There is a lot of skill involved.

That's exactly it!

I bet after you go, you'll realize just how bad you need a good suspension setup. I know I did.
