Default Opinions on a BeCool radiator or other brands

I need a radiator for my 93 LX and was looking at the Direct fit BeCool radiator. Is anyone using one? Are they any good or should I get another brand? I thought the price was fair at $260.

I haven't heard anything bad about them. I bought a Mishimoto for my 92, I was very impressed when it arrived. I think I paid just under $200 about 8 months ago.

We have replaced 5 Be-Cool Rads in the last 2 months, one had less than 7,000 miles on it.

Being deep in the thermal efficiency industry I will tell you first hand that almost ALL of the BIG names use China Cores with US made tanks. The same goes for Heat Exchangers and Intercoolers. The bad part about that is that the Cores are Brazed at one time and the tanks are welded on later which results in the Brazing of the Core to be reheated and become very weak. When properly done the cores are preheated before the tanks are welded on in a brazing autoclave (oven). 90% of the Big Names do not make the Cores so they do not have the oven to heat the aluminum to the proper temp before welding the tanks on. Basically they just weld the tanks on and hope it doesn't fail until after your warranty runs out.

Another False positive that most of these Companies use is saying that there radiators "Dont use cheap epoxy". That is in fact a VERY good thing to have. The whole point of the epoxy is to absorb the harmonics of the engine and the road vibration to keep the Brazed core from vibrating apart. So in a nut shell if they dont have "Cheap epoxy" then they are CRAP!!!!

You will most definitely get what you pay for but you will end up buying one real soon. The main reason you dont hear about this happening is because most guys and gals dont hang on to there mustangs long enough to have it Crap out on them, so it then becomes the next guys time bomb.

With the 8,000 different radiators that we have I am sure that we could get you into a direct fit that would work for you application at a reasonable price.

We are also Master Warehouse Distributors of Griffin Radiators which is the only other radiator that I would run in my car. I have designed and built several for Members of this forum and I have NEVER heard anything less than the highest praise. Maybe one of them will chime in here and give you there opinion.

I we can help you in anyway or if you have any questions feel free to email me or you can call us.

oh yeah, if it is really shinny and it is a REALLY good price then they are usually hiding something.

I run a Howe in my race car (off-road super buggy) it holds up well to abuse, never leaked.
