Default 1994 5.0L mustang

ok so i have A 1994 5.0L HO mustang with 70000mi and i bought it for 2800 now im just getting into cars so please cut me some slack if i seem kinda of dumb. But anyways back to the subject im wanting to start adding onto my car. The car is all stock except it has a shift kit in the transmission and flowmasters (straight pipes). So if anyone could tell me how i could start off easy and cheap by adding onto my car to give it more hp or anything would help. Thanks

lose the AC, lose the smog pump. lose the belt driven fan and get an electric,(if it doesnt already have one) lose the cats. better headers, h pipe (or x). cold air intake

REAR END GEARS. get rid of the 3.08 gears and go 3.55, 3.73, (or 4.10 if you love buying gas and hate the highway) wont add hp but will make a night and day difference on how your car accelerates. turns a grandma car into a race car.

full exhaust and gears was just over a grand for my 88 plus 300 or so to install

you dont need to buy a namebrand cold air get one from ebay and buy a better filter it would save you about $70 just make sure it is aluminum not steel or plastic

both add about the same power...h pipe is a lil more mean sounding...x pipes can get raspy....

umm if your getitng a midpipe i would get a o/r one...

and if it your dd...i wouldnt get rid of the ac and all that stuff like the one guy said...but i would agree that you should put some lower gears in there..... prob 3.73s...

+1 on getting the shift kit first. Those are a MUST with an automatic. The rear end gears should be next, either 3.73, 3.90, or 4.10's but nothing higher (lower number) than 3.73's...

After that, do your exhaust and CAI. But before you go adding a lot of stuff to the engine, save yourself a big headach and upgrade your suspension and brakes. Trust me, if you do all this in that order then you'll be happy.

between the h and x....its all in preference on the sound...x give a little more HP, but hardly noticable. H is deeper and more rumbly(throaty) and the x is raspy. for a 5.0, the h sounds way better IMO. Gears are a must! I like my 3.73s

most of the mods you can do to increase horse off the bat before spending money on performance parts is by removing things from your engine.

the less things your engine has to drive = more power for the crank.

eliminater brackets (ac and smog) are both cheap but will require a different belt.
