Another CL Oddity, Are you sitting down? Look at this.
I've been browsing craigslist looking at foxbodies and I know Florida is a good ways from NC, but I can dream can't I. I often share the "oddities" that I find but this one will surely piss you off if you hate a Chevy. Especially a Chevy engine in a Fox. I'd like your feedback on this one, is this something rare or is it done alot? I don't think I've ever heard of it...
I can't stand it when people put a chevy engine in a Ford. It's just for those Chevy lovers that are too embarrassed to drive a chevy car and hide the engine in the Ford's engine bay.
350's are very popular hot rod motors and you'll find them all the time in old hot rods.
I can't stand it!
If you want a chevy engine, then drive a chevy! Don't waste a perfectly good Ford.

otherwise its like a fat chick in a mini skirt just not right.....

That is VERY possible. Like I said, it's really popular to put a 350 in the older hot rods.
I actually like the 350 engines. They are well made, run strong, and parts are dirt cheap for them.
Me and my dad call them "Belly-Button Engines" because EVERYONE has one.

Here's something I don't understand....why all the "it's gotta be Ford or it's gotta be chevy" or "I'll never own a chevy or I'll never own a Ford" ? Why all the crap?
Did you ever stop to think why someone would put a 350 chevy in a stang? How about the fact that it is ALOT cheaper to mod a chevy motor and make GOOD power compared to Ford. Chevy parts are cheap and plentiful and they make excellent power. How about the fact that every year, the "war" between the Camaro and the Mustang is won by the Camaro? Why is it always a Mustang guy saying "what can I do to beat my buddy's LS Camaro"?
Face it guys....the LS motor is superior to any motor that Ford has produced yet. Stock against stock, the Camaro wins the hp and tq competition EVERY YEAR.
You see....I'm not appalled at the fact that someone went outside the box and put a chevy 350 in his stang, hell, if I could afford it, I'd pull my crappy 4.6 and swap an LS into it in a heartbeat(no pun intended ).

Remember, it is almost impossible for anyone, myself included, to diagnose a problem over the internet without seeing the car. My advice is simply that, advice based on years of experience. I don't want you or anyone taking my word as gospel. I am trying to give some direction as to what I think may be happening.

I don't have a problem with Chevy... I'd just rather own a Ford.
My problem is, if you want to drive Mustang, then why put a Chevy engine in it? Why not just get a Camaro?
It just doesn't make sense.
I own a '75 Chevy pickup with God knows how many miles on it, and it just recently threw a timing chain and won't run. So we are now in the middle of rebuilding a 350 for it. Good engine, cheap parts, great power... But keep them in a Chevy.
It just doesn't make sense to buy a Ford just to put a Chevy motor in it...
