Okay so I was driving home from work yesturday, about a mile from the house sitting at a stop light and the car shuts off. Light turns green, and Im still trying to get her to start and all she would do is crank and I cant move the car cause its on a hill and theres a 6inch curb right next to the road, and when I think about it, its like all the places on my 5 mile trip home from work it stops here. I call a tow truck and they want 70 bucks to tow it a mile if that. so I sit there and block traffic untill the woman shows up with the suv to tow me home. Anyways I get it home in within 5 minutes I know whats wrong. Anyways I am planning to tackle it this weekend or next but does anyone have an opinion on a good stock pump? I dont want to do it twice and I have heard alot of aches of people doing it numerous times...

Yeah but wont it pump too much fuel into the car? If the car is getting X and needs X but I am pumping 2X wont it run bad or will the cars fuel pressure regulator correct the amount ? I wasnt sure if I can just stick anyone in the tank. If thats the case then yes I would like to beef it up for future use. I just dont want to run into any issues with the bolt ons or how the car runs now. (obviously I havent done research)

im running a 155 lph in my 93 conversion with 24lb inj. b303 cam 70mm tb and it works fine , the regulator return thefuel the engine dosent use to keep the pressure to the regulator set pressure, you will just be returning more fuel to the tank ,big G

no dude when mine went out i put a 155lph in mine and i only have bolt-on mods, it runs just as good if not better didnt hurt fuel economy, like reggie said that regulator takes care of exceess fuel go with a walabro aka holley
Will do guys, I appreciate it, I hadnt really looked into it before of ever had that many mods on the few mustangs ive had to worry about those things. Thanks again.

Maybe I should not be brinigng this thread back to light but I had $.02 to add. I really did think about this and it is relevant so here goes.
I replaced my fuel pump about 6 months ago and figured since I was going to have to drop the tank I would go ahead and get the biggest pump I could get to be prepared for whatever I wanted to do in the future(and not ever ever ever have to drop the tank again). I decided I could easily enough do the regulator another day. I picked out a BBK kit from American Muscle with a 255 lph pump. The kit was great as it had everything I needed to do the job, new fuel pump filter, new harness, 2 wire crimp connectors, hose rings, o ring, fuel line tubing. Only thing is that the pump is engraved Walbro and not BBK.
So now it kind of makes sense after reading this thread. I paid for a Walbro pump that all the other kits prob had but with BBK dressings and packaging.
I guess in closing for guys looking to buy a pump get the regular pump if you have access to all the other trimmings and save yourself like 50%. I paid about $140 for my kit and had turned down the less expensive bare bones pump only deals which were $60-80. And of course if you don't want to have to go to the parts store then the BBK kit which had everything and more than I needed to complete the job is a good choice.
