What is the name of the book you used? What is the name of the company you got the paint from?

I decided a couple weeks ago that I am going to paint my Mustang myself and have started researching it online quite a bit. Any advice/pics you can offer I would appreciate. Thanks.

the book is called 'how to paint your car' by parks and jacobs. i think i bought it at borders books. if they dont have it try summit racing or ebay. the book is only 20.00. the paint store that is on ebay is called 'tcp global', they sell everything you need to paint your car from paint to primer. really nice people to. they are very helpfull

I am sending mine in this weekend. I am getting most of the car stripped due to some rust and peeling paint, repainted original color and a nice clear coat. Quoted $1900 with a 4 year warranty. If you get it done somewhere do your research and talk to customers from that shop and look around at the cars there and of course the shop itself. You can tell the good places from the bad.

i had let maaco paint an old car i had about 5 years ago...they indicated they would shoot it basecoat/clearcoat but ended up painting it acrylic enamel. it looked like someone threw sand all over it when they painted it. i took it back and they ended up painting it again. it still looked like sh%*. spent 1200.00 for nothing. this is why i thought i could do a better job than that. becareful though-----if you do a great job on your car, you will have friends lining up to get ther cars/or trucks painted. i ended up painting two of my buddy's trucks after i shot my 1986.....lol
