Default 1990 Mustang Convertible Weight Reduction

Hey all, my LX has some weight reduction work done already, a/c delete and an aluminum radiator to be exact, however I want to take it to the next level and do a rear seat removal and fiberglass hood. I was wondering if anyone has done a rear seat delete on a convertible and if there is anyway to keep the mounts for the dust cover?

Thanks for any and all ideas.

the back seats dont weigh that much man..
got a few sets downstairs and gave away one last week..
i think to be exact with metal on back.. maybe 30 pounds

I have never noticed the a/c delete, smog delete, and nicer radiator, etc.

100 pounds is where you notice anything and there its not worth not having a back seat..

Hmmm, I was thinking it weighed a lot more than that. In that case I'll leave it, for now anyway. Thanks for the info.

You live in CA. Yank out the top, the top frame, the motor, the cylinders, the hoses, and just leave the boot covering the hole. You'll shave off 175 pounds and a ton of headaches. Just take the bus for the three times a year it rains.

Haha I'd do that if she wasn't my current DD. Well... When I swap in a new alternator.
