First the driver side rear window struggled to go up or down and then just stopped working in the down position. Then the next day the passenger side rear window after going up and down a few times stopped working in the up position. Neither the driver controls nor the rear controls have any effect. I can hear however hear a single click coming from the motor when I push the switch up or down for either window. That leads me to believe it has power. I thought the two windows might be linked to the same issue like a fuse, but then I thought it could just be a coincidence. I've read many threads about these window motors and their plastic gears but I wanted to hear some more opinions before I started removing panels and replacing motors. I would have thought that I'd hear the motors spining if the gears were striped or mis-aligned. maybe the brushes are dirty? I don't think the switches are bad because I can hear the click noise from the motors when I press them.

Hey, I've fixed plenty of these motors, most of the time just by changing the plastic bushings inside the gear (not the whole gear). I would recommending just pulling the motors out one by one, it's really not that hard, and should only take you a couple minutes. When you get the motor out, you should be able to test it outside the door. Just plug it in and push the window button. You should be able to get an idea of what the motor's doing at that point. You can take out the gear, and see if the motor is actually spinning. I can almost guarantee you that you won't see the plastic bushings. They have probably turned to tiny pieces of unrecognizable plastic by now. Just pick up those bushings from Advance or another auto parts store in the 'help section. They are about 8 bucks for a pack of three, and are labeled (incorrectly because they have nothing to do with the regulator) window regulator bushings. Just put the bushings in and put it back together. I can almost guarantee that this will fix at least one or two of your motors.
