Default My Automatic Shifter stopped working. help plz.

Well I have a 86 Buick Somerset that i get out every once in a while and drive it. well today i put 57 miles on it and did a tune up on it. well i parked it and came out a hour later to move it and when i put it into Drive the shifter felt like really easy to move from park to Drive. i think the shifter cable broke but how can it brake without me feeling it? I mean it went into Park easy when i parked it and when i moved it i didn't force it at all it just went easily into Drive but the car stayed in park.

What could be wrong? maybe just a bolt came off?

Check and make sure the shift linkage is still attached to the tranny, if it is follow the cable and look for anything disconnected

Ok, I found the problem lol. the cable came off the Transmition. Well i put it on but it just sits their loosely. their is no room for a nut to hold it in place cause theirs no stud for the nut to thread onto.

So, I put Water Weld on it for now lol. It's same as jb weld.
