Default Throttle body size and question..

Hey guys what is the size of the stock 5.0 throttle body?? Also coolant flows thro the t/b and egr plate, do i just clamp off the hoses and then take it off??

I believe the TB size is 65mm. 60 at the least. Ill meausre one when I get home, if noone answers first.

59mm or 60mm... Who's counting?

I don't know about the whole coolant in the TB thing... I don't remember that when I was changing my intake, but mine is a '94.

Someone will be able to help you though.

some more help on the coolant issue would help

The throttle body is 59-60mm. The older throttle bodies were even smaller. The 65mm is good for a stock or near stock engine.

As for the coolant lines, you can actually leave the ports open, it won't hurt. The lines can be capped off or removed all the way to the hard line and capped to clean up under the hood. A hose with a bolt in it sticking up from the intake is ugly.

i dont want to plug them i just wanted to know if i should clamp them off when i change the throttle body..
