I have narrowed my choices down to 2 for my 5.0L block either I have my old 83 HO hot tanked cleaned a new bearing pressed in or do I purchased a new DSS level 2 race block bored .030" over for $500 need input thanks

if your block is good i'd keep it.....

Your original block isn't the strongest of 5.0L blocks ('86+ is), and it's not a roller block either.

Depends on what you're going to do with/to the block and how much power you're planning.

planning on at least 300 horses with a small shot of nitrous oxide

my old block is in great condition only has 40k on it and its a light 40 K I never really pushed the motor that hard

you will be just fine with your old block......
