So I had some seafoam laying around so i decided to put 1/3 of the can (6oz) into my full gas tank. Going to work today the engine would ping at 900 RPM and then go away. I've used up about 1/2 my tank of gas and this is the 1st time it has happened. It runs fine when i get on it. I havnt done anything to the car since i put the seafoam in. I decided to put in some 92 octane on my way home tonight and i hope this fixes the problem. I normally put midgrade in, 89 octane? Not sure. I guess i've never heard of seafoam causing an engine to ping like that.

Did you add it before you put gas in it?

No it was after. It would still mix in, at least I think it would.

Well ive driven it 25 miles since i put the 92 octane in and still no difference. Anybody have any ideas/theories?

Might need to run it all the way down to empty to get it all out.
