I have a B cam,a GT 40 intake and just installed the Tri stste heads (5.0 X heads). Will the stock 19's be sufficient or will I nead to upgrade? I saw a 0.4 improvement in ET and a gain of 4 mph after the head install.

Injectors don't make power, they support your engine's ability to make power.
If those parts you've mentioned are all you have, you're no where near needing 40's. You have 24, 30, 36, and 38 pound injectors before you get there so you have a ways to go.

To answer the other question, 40's would put a serious dent in your gas mileage.

if you run 40 lbs injectors, I don't even think your car would run, you need a good air to fuel ratio. the only way you would need 40 lbs injectors is if you are running a big single or twin turbo setup or a nice size super charger
